New Battery Analysers and Testers
Accurate Assessment of Vehicle Batteries with Ring Battery Analysers and Testers
According to the AA the most common cause for vehicle breakdowns in winter is a flat battery!
Mechanics and technicians should see winter conditions as an opportunity to generate extra income by testing the vehicle batteries.
Battery analysers or testers provide an accurate way to check the cranking ability of vehicle batteries. This will indicate if there is a need to replace or recharge the battery. If replacement is needed, the garage benefits from an additional sale, while the customer gets reassurance that they have a fully healthy battery going into winter.
To help mechanics this winter, Ring has launched two battery analysers and two battery load testers.
The RBA600 and RBA50 are both 12v Battery Analysers that utilise microprocessor control, which can analyse and test the battery capacity without applying a load, providing faster more accurate results. Each unit has the option of selecting the battery capacity and rating system of the battery up to 1700CCA.
Batteries can be tested in or out of the vehicle with these units and have reverse polarity protection built in.
RBA600 will test the battery, alternator, starter and earth for a complete health check of the battery. The backlit LCD Screen means the readings are clearly visible even in the dark or low levels of light. Included in the kit is a software disc that once installed on a computer will provide report printing, so customers can see a detailed report on the health of the vehicle battery. This can be customised to show the garage and vehicle details.
The RBA50 is a compact battery analyser, with a scrolling alpha numeric LED display, which allows the analyser to be setup for all commonly used battery standards. The battery condition is represented by a very simple LED and Icon display. Green for OK, amber for re-charge required and red for replace.
The two traditional load testers provide a cost effective method of determining the battery starting ability.
The RBA15 is a 12v digital battery load tester with selectable battery sizes up to 1000CCA. The RBA10 is a 6v/12v analogue battery load tester.
Both units will test battery, alternator and starter motor, come with high capacity battery clamps, and are built using a rugged metal casing for high impact protection. Both models are fully automatic with a safety timer to prevent overheating.
