Ring’s RIL82 Mini LED Inspection Lamp wins praise from Auto Express

The RIL82 Mini LED Inspection Lamp has been reviewed in this week’s Auto

Express, and been awarded a 2016 Recommended award.

The test pitted 10 products against each other to see how well small LED inspection lamps – ideally to keep in the glove box for emergencies – performed when used for car DIY work. The lamps were all tested for overall brightness and beam pattern, with a wider beam being ideal. The units with several light output options were also favoured, as this extends battery life. Size, usefulness of positioning and additional features were also considered – as well as price and whether or not batteries are included.

The RIL82 was praised for being “a standard inspection lamp in miniature”, and being “the best…for positioning” out of those tested. The extra “two powerful magnets in the base” were also mentioned, as they offered additional positioning options as well as the rear magnet and fold out hook. The review also mentioned that the “LED light bank is intense”.
